Dear Miss Cindy:

Hello again! I just got to see the videos for the 1st time, and I was completely blown away in the excellence of artistry that you and ANEENA displayed, along with your respected troupes.

As a man, it's much harder to appreciate belly dancing aspects than it is for a woman. But, with your videos, you bring a delight and inspiration for all dancers and enthusiasts to enjoy.

BELL-E-SENTIALS may be one of the best teaching videos for any woman who begins to take up the art. May I say that after 20 years of exercise and dedication, you have the physique (and beauty) as you did 20 years ago. You are an awesome, exotic woman.
I will admit, I am a fan of the abdominal. My favorite move in the art is the rolls and flutters. In my opinion only, you have (by far) the sexiest abdominal of any belly dancer in the world today. Your ability to control the top and bottom portions of the middle abdomen were superb. Your rolling motions were very unique and smooth flowing, and your ability to match each sound of music to coordinate with each muscle movement was a visual delight!
Your development in the understanding of the body shows in your troupe in the video performances. The studio light dance was memorizing. The outdoor acts were beautiful (along with the costumes). Even with all of this praise, one special moment stood out from all others.

I have seen belly rolls combined with floor work before, but I have never seen a more sexual and emotionally powerful display of female spirit and physical strength than your candle dances. There were not enough to go around!!
No matter what the music, your abs worked like magic. It takes a special woman to pull off an exotic move. I think you were born for that purpose. We are all so lucky. :)
The start-and-stop rolls/flutters were brilliant as well. It helps when you are confident and sharing it with your audiences, which were loving every secondŠas well they should.

ANEENA and her troupe displayed excellent orchestral dances from all regions of the world. The cane and sword dances were nice, but her veil displays rank her in a class all on her own! Size and age means nothing with one glimpse of an ageless treasure (and she giggles a lot, too...you notice?) That helps.

Very sincerely, Brandon F. Johnson

Cindy:

The Belly Essentials Etc. looks great. I did a run through last night. That's an interesting energy raising warm-up. You attended one of Delilah's workshops! That on my list of things to do - study with a dancer who is deeply into the spiritual aspect of the dance. I've had Roya here for spiritually related workshops and maybe one day will be able to afford Delilah. This June, we will have a workshop and hafla Siham Ali and Masani Azure both of the Kansas City area.

I am re-working some of my drum choreographies and the Etc tape is going to be very helpful. It's really like a dictionary for movement. Both you and Aneena are wonderful presenters. Aneena des a great job of working from the basic movement into the complicated stuff. This is the way I like to teach; it gives students a foundation and a sense of accomplishment. Master one movement one then move on to its variations or timings. The Margo moves are challenging. I will be taking a workshop with Mango in April.

The video is also affirming in that you covered belly gram topics that discuss with my students and troupe members all the time.

Do not touch the honoree
Do not shake your body is his face
Keep about a 2-ft distance

This video is beneficial to me as both a student and teacher of the dance. I'll let you know when I view the basics video>

Hi Cindy:

Last fall I purchased the double veil video. it's wonderful. That's why I decided to purchase your other tapes. I like the format used in your presentations and I also enjoyed having two different presenters on the same tape.

The double veil video was highly recommended by several dancers on the Med dance list. Morocco also made a comment that Aneena does the most beautiful veil work. That cinched it for me.

Sincerely in dance, DelIa
